new photo of theboy
without oohing and
aahing. I’ve loved
watching him grow
and come into his
own since the dayhe
was born, and onJuly
22, the boy who willbe
king turned six.
My favourite Woman’s
Day cover was George’s
baby issue. While I love
the pomp and pageantry
of royal weddings, George’s
arrival was extremely sweet
and special. We always know
exactly when a wedding will
take place – down to the
minute – but it’s not the case
with babies and I remember
the feverish anticipation
ahead of George’s birth.
Finally, the Duke and
Duchess of Cambridge –
resplendent in blue – came
through the hospital doors
holding tiny George. It really
was a Lion King moment
- presenting the cub who
would be our future king to
the world. At Woman’s Day
we celebrated briefly, before
pumping out an award-
winning commemorative
issue in four hours – the
first mag in the world to
hit newsstands.
I think I’ve been obsessed
with George ever since! I love
hathe’s been
mischievous since
aydot, regularly
entertaining us with
hisshenanigans.
Hemaybethird in line to
the throne, but it doesn’t
stop him rolling down hills,
poking his tongue out or
throwing a strop. If Wills and
Kate wanted their son to
have as carefree a childhood
as possible despite royal
constraints, judging by the joy
on his face, they’ve done it.
I was excited to hear
George had a Star Wars party!
My darling Darcy had a Star
Wars theme for his seventh
birthday, and it was a wild
success – and so easy to
organise! Basically, everyone
came in their
favourite Star
Wars costume
(except for one
little Spider-Man,
of course) and
they all went
crazy with their
lightsabers.
Perfect.
