IT’S HAMMER TIME!
Tools down! The Block is back for its 15th season
and co-host Shelley Craft says it’s “the toughest
we’ve ever done”. Here she tells NW all about
the new reno, as well as doing tuck-shop duty
with her famous Byron Bay neighbours – the
Hemsworths!What makes this year’s Block so tricky?
It’s huge! Each apartment is almost the size
of the whole first Block we ever did in Bondi.
They are just massive – and over three levels.
How do you think you and your hubby
Christian would go as contestants?
Sometimes I think we would just nail it and
other days we wouldn’t even make it through
week one! We’ve worked together for
a long time and we’ve done three
renovations together, so we’re fairly
set in our ways. But then put in the
pressure of no sleep, only six days to
go and Scott Cam breathing down
your neck, I just don’t know! I don’t
think we’d make it to the end.
If they ever did a celebrity version of
the show, who would you want on?
You know, it’s always good to see our
All Stars come back – to see their growth
since they left the show, and how much they’ve
improved as people and renovators. I’m always
excited when they come back. Who I really want
to see on the show is anyone just sitting back in
their lounge room saying how easy it must be!
You live in Byron Bay, which Hollywood stars
are flocking to in droves. Do you ever bump
into Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky? Yeah,
they’re always around. They’ve got kids that are
doing soccer and the things that every other kid
does. Anyone who lives here really appreciates
what the town offers and assimilates very quickly
into the community. They do their tuck-shop duty
just like everybody else!
What’s your TV guilty pleasure? The Bold Type!
During filming for The Block, I could watch
a couple of episodes on every flight that I did.
I don’t get much control of the remote at
home, though!
