his spring, Bitterroot Frames is
bringing its inaugural Montana
Masters to Great Falls, Montana,
as part of the highly-anticipated Out West Art
Show & Sale. No stranger to the three-day
event, Bitterroot Frames will host the art show
and sale alongside its popular companion,
Montana Miniatures, which launched in 2017.
Using a similar concept as Montana Miniatures,
the show features 26 of the best Western artists
in the country. Hosted in a convention room
at Heritage Inn, Montana Masters offers visitors
a rare opportunity to view a wide selection of
different works for sale while chatting with top
Western artists in an intimate setting.
Zach Cheetham, who owns Bitterroot
Frames and has been working with Out West
Art Show & Sale for the past few years, says that
he started Montana Masters with the goal of
bringing top artists to the event while creating
a welcoming experience for artists and visitors
alike. “The inspiration was to bring some of
the notoriety of the big pieces to the Heritage
Inn and see if we could gather some of the top
artists in one spot,” he says. “Over the years
from doing this framing business, I’ve been
fortunate to establish really great relationships
with all the artists. Since we don’t necessarily
have commitments with specific artists like
other galleries sometimes do, I kind of had free-
range on which artists to invite.” Cheetham adds
that this year’s Montana Masters will feature
some of “the biggest names in Western art.” He
