Danielle Cutler
Danielle Cutler began covering
the yachting industry in 2005,
working at the now defunct
ShowBoats International and
then for Yachts International.
She currently serves as
Robb Report’s aviation and
marine editor as well as the
magazine’s deputy managing
editor. This month, she
witnessed the historic launch
of Riva’s new flagship yacht,
Race, in Venice, an experience
she chronicles in “Bellissima”
(page 124). Prior to her work
in the marine and aviation
spheres, she worked on staff
at Condé Nast’s Bon Appétit
magazine.
Heidi Mitchell
Journalist and editor Heidi Mitchell splits her time
evenly among Chicago, Connecticut and United Airlines.
She has contributed to The New York Times, Vogue,
Departures, Surface and The Wall Street Journal, where
she has written the Burning Question column for the
past seven years. Keeping with August’s Dream Machines
focus, Mitchell takes a deep dive into the world of
home and cyber security this month in “Safe & Sound”
(page 118). She does not have a bodyguard. Yet.
Camillo Büchelmeier
Camillo Büchelmeier is a
still-life photographer whose
work has appeared in L’Officiel
Hommes, Cosmopolitan
and Robb Report Germany,
among others. For the Dream
Machines issue, he shot the
showstopping sapphire crystal
watches of “Crystal. Clear,”
capturing the sought-after
material against a suitably
vibrant, kaleidoscopic
backdrop (page 108).
Büchelmeier’s style entails a
strong graphical approach,
and is rooted in a desire to
uncover the unseen. He cites
Irving Penn’s work as his main
source of inspiration.
Francesca Volpi
Italian photographer
Francesca Volpi’s work—which
has appeared in Monocle,
The Wall Street Journal and
The New York Times, among
others—dissects how urban
conflicts, climate change and
poverty affect people across
the globe. Her recent projects
have captured the ongoing war
in Ukraine and the stories of
the extraordinary people of
Honduras, where she resides
part-time. She shot the
Genius at Work section
for August’s Robb Report,
capturing the farm-to-cigar
process behind Padrón’s
smokes (page 84).
Jeff Wise
A journalist covering
aviation, adventure and
psychology, Jeff Wise has
written for Bloomberg
Businessweek, The New
York Times, Men’s Journal,
Popular Mechanics and
many other publications.
For this issue, Wise debunks
the pop culture mystique
surrounding the flying car
in favor of a more grounded,
albeit still plenty cool, reality
in “The Future We Want Is
Not the Future We Get”
(page 104). When not on
assignment, Wise enjoys
biking, kayaking and flying
small airplanes.
