of the lighted windows and kept the darkened windows
in their normal detail, creating the slightly disorienting
feeling of experiencing the city from above as our head
moves and our eyes adjust to the light and the perspective.
“In my earlier work,” she explains, “the paintings were
more about the light and you couldn’t see the structures
as much. In my more recent work, I’ve wanted to be able
to recognize the city. My next paintings need to be a
little more abstract since its more about the feeling and
the energy.”
Her exhibition Megacity will be at Gallery Henoch in
New York, March 21 through April 13.
