Isuzu turns over modern PUVs to Luzon provinces

Isuzu Philippines Corp. (IPC) recently turned over
a total of 30 modern public utility vehicle (PUV)
in the provinces of Rodriguez, Rizal and Lucban,
Quezon.

The new fleet of PUVs aims to transport
passengers in safety, comfort, and convenience.
Fifteen units of QKR77 light trucks, delivered to
officers and members of the Lucban Genesis
Transport Service and Multipurpose Cooperative
(LGTSMPC), will have two routes: Lucban to
Tayabas and Mauban to Lucena. Metro Comet
Transport Cooperative also received the same

models from Isuzu which will replace current
UV Express with routes plying the Rodriguez,
Rizal and Cubao, Quezon City loop.
“Today, we are very proud to say that Isuzu
not only achieved another milestone but
also continued its legacy by having these
Isuzu PUVs to run the public roads under the
government’s PUV Modernization Program.
With these Isuzu PUVs, we are truly confident
that we will be able to provide a more
comfortable and convenient ride to our public
commuters,” said Shojiro Sakoda, executive vice
president, IPC.

The new generation of PUVs can accommodate up
to 23 passengers with enough legroom, headroom,
and seat space. The vehicle is also equipped with
air-conditioning, Wi-Fi connection to accommodate
online activities of all passengers, automatic fare
collection system powered by Eudoo, three CCTV
cameras, LED destination displays, and GPS tracker.

Assembled in the Philippines, the QKR77 is powered
by a Euro IV-compliant 3.0-liter 4JH1-TC CRDI diesel
engine that delivers better fuel economy and cleaner
emissions. It also has a speed limiter that prevents
drivers from driving over 60 kph.
