SM, the country’s mall giant, expands its retail shops
with the opening of its first outdoor lifestyle store at
the second level of SM Makati.


With over 30 brands, Outdoors by SM is a destination
for outdoor apparel, accessories, and gears. It hosts
the best premium brands that cater to all seasons,
from summer to winter. This includes The North
Face and Columbia, Swedish brand Fjallraven with
its iconic Kanken bags, insulated bottles from Klean
Kanteen, and many more.


Camping and mountain climbing essentials are
also being offered in the shop. For seasoned and
amateur climbers, there’s Salomon and Merrell that
provides all-terrain footwear. Multi-functional bags
from Deuter, Thule, and Osprey, and other camping
gear from Sea to Summit and Mountain Hardwear
are spotted in the store. Top selections from lifestyle
brands like Birkenstock for the urban explorer, as
well as boots from Palladium and Timberland for city
dwellers are also displayed among the shop’s racks.


Taking people closer to adventure, Outdoors by SM is
set to offer more brands in the next few months.

P.J. Lhuillier Inc. (PJLI), the parent company of
Cebuana Lhuillier, announced its investment in
Satoshi Citadel Industries (SCI) Ventures Inc., financial
technology startup company building blockchain
services and products, and Kakao Investment, Korea’s
largest messaging app.

Jean Henri Lhuillier, president and CEO, PJLI. “Things
that we never thought possible before are now the

I’m excited by the revolutionary advancements I’m
seeing in financial technology.”


While SCI is building blockchain, Lhuillier clarified
that at present, cryptocurrency is not in the pipeline
although it is a “space worth looking into.”


Lhuillier also said the partnership will focus on the
development of fin-tech-related applications to
improve the company’s financial services. He added
the main focus at the early stages is to explore each
company’s strengths so they can work together
moving forward.


SCI’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Rebittance Inc.,
is one of the first Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas
(BSP)-registered Virtual Currency Exchanges in the
Philippines. The company venture is backed by South

Aside from remittance, Cebuana is already servicing

combined physical and virtual touchpoints

assets.
