HOSHINOYA GUGUAN IN TAICHUNG OPENING EARLY SUMMER
Hoshino Resorts will open HOSHINOYA Guguan in Guguan, a hot spring region located in the suburbs of Taichung, Taiwan on 30 June.
This will be the first luxury hot spring resort operated by Hoshino in Taiwan.
Guguan is a valley carved out by the Dajia River, flowing from the 3,800 metre-high peak of Xueshan. The land is heated by natural
thermal energy from underground, making it the hotbed (no pun intended) for hot springs in Taiwan.
Guests will be first led through a bamboo forest before reaching the reception, taking in the otherworldly environment. The
calmness of water is the theme of this resort, and the baths are what defines the Japanese ryokan experience. Dip yourself into
soft, low-alkaline, naturally carbonated hot spring waters and watch the world pass you by.
Your delightful hot spring sessions don’t end in the bath halls, each guest room is replenished with water drawn from the
area’s hot springs everyday. The maisonette-style rooms provide a dedicated level for hot spring soaking, completed with a
bench where you can cool off later. There are also a set of louvers that can be opened to allow in the breeze.

MALAYSIA TO SEE WORLD’S FIRST MONOPOLY HOTEL
The first Monopoly-themed five-star boutique hotel is scheduled
to open in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur in the second or third
quarter of this year. Monopoly Mansion by Sirocco will be located
at M101 Bukit Bintang.
The hotel is developed in collaboration with U.S.-based toy
company, Hasbro and will be managed by Datuk Seth Yap and Datin
Lea Chan of Sirocco Hospitality. Upon completion, it will feature 255
rooms inspired by the popular board game, Monopoly, and The
Great Gatsby aesthetic. To add to the excitement, Lonely Planet
selected the upcoming hotel in their list of “Best New Attractions for
Kids in 2019” at the beginning of the year.
Don’t worry, it isn’t going to be a place catered entirely to
children. A rooftop pool, a sky lounge, as well as other luxurious
amenities will keep the adults busy while kids marvel in their
wildest fantasies.

FIRST J.K. PLACE OUTSIDE ITALY TO OPEN IN PARIS
Small but much celebrated Italian group, J.K. Place is set to open their
new hotel in June. J.K. Place Paris will be the group’s first venture out
of Italy. They are known for their uber-chic and stylish rooms, with an
emphasis on fashion and art.
It took the group five years to locate the perfect site in Paris for
the hotel, eventually settling for the old European Consulate on Rue
de Lille, which overlooks the Seine. In typical J.K. Place style, it will
feature 30 spacious rooms containing intricate Italian pieces, but the
twist will be little gems found only in Parisian flea markets.
With five-star ambience comes five-star facilities. Guests will also
be able to enjoy an indoor pool, and a spa by top French brand,
Sisley. Dining outlets will be ran in partnership with Casa Tua,
offering not only traditional Northern Italian cuisine, but also culinary
classes with renowned chefs.
