Rise in security planter interest
Governments, architects and urban planners are
increasingly turning to trees to help improve air
quality and address climate change in cities, but
they are also being used to keep people safe too.
Securiscapeis reporting increased inquiries from
organisations hoping to use its designer PAS 68 street planters, designed
to foil hostile vehicle-borne attacks, to grow trees. The self-watering
technology behind modern planters means that providing the trees are
of the correct variety then they can happily survive in urban locations,
such as London, where Securiscape installed a row of PAS68 planters,
finished with a bronze patina shroud, outside the Broadgate estate.
