SURFING PLUS
THERAPY
Resurface surf retreats
combine an intensive week
of surfing and therapy
near Agadir, in Morocco.
The aim is for guests at
Riad Dar Haven to learn
throughout the week how to
stay grounded and positive,
as well as aware of their
potential. Physically it tests
strength, balance and stamina
during the surf sessions,
with support coming from
an instructor and assistant.
You’ll visit several beaches
and picturesque picnic
lunches by the sea follow
time spent in the waves.
During therapy there is
gentle encouragement to
face those beliefs that are
felt to create limitations and
guidance in overcoming
them. Accommodation is
in one of nine traditional
Moroccan rooms, peaceful
and each with a smart slate
stone bathroom. There is
also a courtyard pool and
vines, which invite the many
songbirds for a touch of the
poetic. resurfaceuk.com

LOST VILLAGE
FESTIVAL
Deep in the woods, past
derelict buildings and
deserted junkyards, moving
further into nature, you
will find The Lost Village.
A festival in Lincolnshire
where life as you know it is
left behind, replaced with
days of dance, food, stories,
workshops, theatre, comedy
and more. This year music
acts include; Maribou State,
Little Dragon and Peggy
Gou. Venues within the
festival are intriguing, such
as the Abandoned Chapel,
Forgotten Cabin and the
Bureau of Lost. For chilled
vibes head to The Energy
Garden, offering yoga, wood-
fired hot tubs and massage.
Not forgetting the Forgers
Fayre, a place to craft, learn
and connect with like-minded
‘villagers’. The festival runs
from the 22-25 August.

YORKSHIRE
COAST HOLIDAY
Runswick Bay, nine miles
north of Whitby in Yorkshire,
is an idyllic seaside village
complete with sandy beach,
pretty cottages, colourful
boats, rock pooling, fossil
hunting and impressive
coastal walks. The village
is located on the northern
end of a sweeping bay with
views at the top of the steep
coastal path overlooking
Kettleness headland. A
former fishing village, there
are small and winding
pedestrian lanes, an ancient
white painted thatched
coastguard’s cottage right
on the sea front, a pub and a
café with homemade cakes.
The tiny Methodist chapel
was built in 1829 by the
women of the village, behind
2
which there’s an ancient
village spring. An ideal
picnic spot is the stone
steps next to the now
disused RNLI lifeboat
station. Artists are said to
have long flocked to the
villages here, mesmerised
by the historic coastline.

BUBBLE TENT
VALLEY VIEWS
Overlooking the widest
canyon in the world, three
bubble tents, Leo, Virgo
and Cancer offer a unique
experience of the Capertree
Valley in Australia. The valley
is a paradise for stargazers
and birdwatchers, situated
200km from Sydney’s central
business district and halfway
between the wine region of
Mudgee and Lithgow. As
well as a queen-sized bed,
these clear inflatable tents
come with telescopes to
view the stars, a fire pit,
raincoats, hot water
bottles and champagne
flutes. The latter two also
have outdoor wood-fired
bath tubs. It’s BYO food
and drink, but Lithgow’s
Tin Shed can prepare
you a pack to purchase.
