Project Calm – July 2019

(Nandana) #1
A saline mouthwash is a great natural way to ensure that
your mouth is clean and well looked after. The water and
salt combination relieves pain and swelling, and it’s also
a great alternative to store-bought mouthwashes as the
alcohol in those can irritate your mouth.

SALT WATER MOUTHWASH

If you have any painful areas in your mouth this completely natural rinse will help reduce the discomfort as
well as effectively reducing the amount of bacteria.

Step 1
Measure out half a
teaspoon of salt per cup of
water and place into the
glass.

Step 3
Gently stir the salt
and water solution
until all the salt has
dissolved.

Step 2
Add your salt to your water
glass and pour in a cup of
boiled water that has been
left to cool down.

Step 4
You may rinse your mouth
up to four times a day to
leave your mouth cleaner
and less inflamed.

This salt water rinse is great if you have a sore throat,
toothache and mouth ulcers as it has wonderful
anti-inflammatory properties. The salt also inhibits
bacteria growth, so using a saline mouthwash is also
great for daily use.
