A slowly advancing cold
front will bring numerous
showers and thunder-
storms to the interior
Northeast on Tuesday. A
few storms may approach
severe levels, as well as
bring localized flash
flooding. Most of the East
Coast will remain dry
through the day, albeit hot
and humid. Less humid air
will be positioned behind
the front in the central and
western Great Lakes.

FRIDAY
SATURDAY ..................Clouds and sunshine
Friday will be partly sunny and a bit less
humid. High 84. Saturday will be partly
sunny with thunderstorms in a few spots.
High will be 84.

As hot and humid conditions hold along
the East Coast, showers and thunder-
storms will extend from the central and
western Gulf Coast to the Appalachians
and eastern Great Lakes region today.
Some of the downpours may be heavy
enough to cause flash and urban flooding.
A few gusty storms may develop.
A batch of slightly cooler and less hu-
mid air will settle over the Upper Midwest
while thunderstorms travel across the
central Plains.
Much of the West may be free of rain,
but there will be showers and thunder-
storms in the deserts, which will spread to
the intermountain region at midweek.
In the Caribbean, there will be heavy
rain in Puerto Rico, Haiti and the Domi-
nican Republic.

High pressure off the East Coast will keep
the coast dry, with a mixture of sunshine
and clouds. There will be evening thun-
derstorms, especially from New York City
on north. The skies will be sunny to partly
cloudy from Boston on north and mostly
sunny in areas farther south.
