Montreal-based designer Zoë Mowat

launched her eponymous studio

in 2010. She creates sculptural

pieces of furniture and objects that

boast refined, geometric lines but

are also accessible and durable.

Recent projects include a compact

toolbox and a cabinet for Japanese

brand Ariake.

Casone

Based in Firenzuola, in Italy’s

Apennines, Casone specialises

in the mining and refinement

of its own sandstone, Pietra Forte

Fiorentina, as well as marble,

onyx and travertine. It prides itself

on utilising both manual and

mechanical techniques in order

to produce the finest materials.

Zoë Mowat’s anti-stress objects

include foot massagers that

rock to provide release for weary

soles, and multi-textured cubes

that offer nervous hands a sense

of ease and which can be used

to relieve tension around the body.

Casone’s calming (and harmless

to superheroes) green Kryptonite

granite and white Carrara marble

provide a sense of luxury.
