Real Living Australia – August 2019

(Axel Boer) #1
COFFEE AND MAGAZINES go together like marble and
brass. Navy and white. Cheese and wine (more on that
later). So when we got the opportunity to partner with
Nescafé to launch their new Gold range of coffees and
flavoured mixers this month, we couldn’t say no! You see,
this is real living’s annual Hot List issue, where we reveal
101 of the coolest new products, trends and spaces that
you need to know about, and Nescafé has kindly gilded
our cover in super-shiny gold to celebrate both occasions.
Our cover story is the home of hotter-than-hot illustrator,
author and creative director Garance Doré. If you haven’t
heard of her, check out her blog Wearedore.com – she’s
a big deal. She’s a fabulous French woman living in LA,
but her approach to decorating is one that us Aussies
can certainly identify with. Flip to p18 and take a look.
As I hinted earlier, this month we faced the question,
to brie, or not to brie? (Sorry, we can’t stop laughing at
that in the office.) Turn to p138 for our guide to matching
the perfect wines with lots of different cheeses. There’s
plenty of expert advice, so whether you’re hosting drinks
at your place or visiting a friend, you’ll be pairing like a pro!
Speaking of experts, our decorating story on p110 is
all about how to be brave and follow your instincts when
transforming the interior of your home, with advice from
mother-daughter duo and interior designers Robbie and
Phoebe Nicol. They summed up the decorating process
perfectly by saying there are no rules – it’s your home, so
you can do whatever you want! I couldn’t agree more.

Tick list There’s nothing
quite like a home abundant
in natural light... or a home
filled with timeless furniture.
Danielle Siggerud’s place
has both. See it on p34.
