Unlike some of her showbiz peers, Natalie Portman prefers a quiet
night at home over gallivanting around Hollywood — and a friend says
that her distaste for her “superficial” colleagues has been heightened as
a result of her recent spat with Moby. In May, the actress slammed the
musician’s claims that the two had a romantic relationship when she
was in college, stating that his behavior toward her was “creepy.”
And though he went on to publicly apologize for his words,
Natalie was “disappointed” that no fellow celebs stood up to
support her. “This Moby thing has been a real nightmare for
Natalie, and what burns her more than anything is she heard
from virtually nobody at the time,” explains the friend. “Stars
like to preach about women supporting women, but this
debacle really brought home how flaky and lame her A-list

aren’t going exactly as she’d hoped.
“Between filming, photo shoots and all
the promo appearances, the pressures
of fame have been incredibly taxing on
her stress levels,” dishes an insider.
“Mischa’s always been emotionally
fragile, but mostly she’s feeling insecure
because she’s not happy with her
appearance.” According to the insider,
now that the O.C. alum has conquered
her demons, she wanted to debut a “hot
and confident new look” to coincide
with her big return, but sadly she hasn’t
managed to get there. At the June 15
MTV Movie & TV Awards, Mischa
“seemed uncomfortable and nervous,”
notes the insider. “The last thing
friends want is for her to start slipping
back into her self-destructive ways.” As
