(やまだぃちぅ) #1
nAfter another argument
with Sharon about Adam,
Rey moves to a room at
the GCAC, where Sharon
shows up the next day to
smooth things over. “It’s
frustrating that they keep
having the same argument
and discussion over and
over again,” sighs Sharon
Case (Sharon). “This prob-
lem just doesn’t seem to go
away, even though Sharon
is committed to keeping
Adam away. But when
Sharon runs into him at
the coffeehouse and other
random encounters, that
upsets Rey all over again,
and jealousy is really hard
on a relationship. Maybe
it’s a red flag that Sharon
should pay attention to but
she’s not ready to throw in
the towel just yet.”
Sharon concedes to Rey
that she shouldn’t have
agreed to Adam’s request
for her to be Christian’s
guardian. “Sharon’s heart
was in the right place,”
defends Case. “Christian
was her child when he was
born and she raised him for
a year, so she felt she was
absolutely the right person
for that. Her agreeing to
step in and be the guardian
was very aboveboard and
nothing against Rey.”
Still, Rey cautions Sha-

ron that she’s headed down
a dark path by helping
Adam. “When people warn
Sharon against Adam, she
thinks it’s not because they
want to protect Sharon but

because they don’t want
Adam anywhere near
them,” Case points out.
“Sharon isn’t in harm’s
way, so this is really about
Rey or Nick wanting
Adam out of their lives,
even in their periphery, as
well. So, she feels stuck
right in the middle.”
It soon becomes clear
that Sharon and Rey have
reached an impasse. “It’s

not an overly emotional
relationship; they have this
very mature way that they
talk to each other,” Case
notes. “Even when they’re
disagreeing about Adam,
they’re usually very calm.”
But things appear to
have reached a point of no
return. “Sharon and Rey’s
lives have changed dras-
tically since they worked
together at the police sta-
tion,” the actress asserts.
“Everything around them is
different. They’re not work-
ing together anymore, he’s
divorced, Mia has run off
and Adam is back in town.
Both of their lives are so
different, so I don’t know
if they’ll be able to have
the same connection in the
world they live in now. This
could be the end.”
