OVER MY DEAD BODY
This podcast isn’t as captivating as Dirty John, but it’s still very intriguing. It chronicles
the love story, which turned deadly, of lawyers Dan Markel and Wendi Adelson, a
successful and attractive couple in Tallahassee, US. It focuses on Dan’s death, when
he’s gunned down in the driveway of his home, after a very drawn-out and hostile
divorce. The investigative reporting focuses on the whodunnit and the lengths a
family will go to in order to find peace and answers. There are seven episodes lasting
about 35 to 40 minutes each, so it’s easy to listen to without a huge time commitment.

UNDER THE
SKIN WITH
RUSSELL
BRAND
This isn’t a new
podcast by any
means, but it’s a
recent discovery for
me. I’m now hooked.
It’s the eclectic
mix of interesting
guests who Brand
interviews that
makes it so worth listening to – from doctors and scholars,
random celebrities, spiritual healers to former US Vice
President Al Gore. I’m not really a big Russell Brand fan, but
I always feel like I’m learning something new and fascinating
each episode!

TALES FROM
THE LILYPAD
My two girls love this
podcast! It’s a series
of stories for young
children that are about
15 to 20 minutes long.
It’s narrated by Lily, a
frog, and it’s perfect
for bedtime. We listen
with the lights out after
we’ve read a real book.
It makes my girls look
forward to bedtime – winning! A new story is uploaded most
months and they also create themed stories for Easter, Halloween
and other holidays.

THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR, NICOLA YOON
I really wanted to read this book before I saw the movie (it has
one of the hunks in it from Riverdale!), but, hey, who has time for
reading these days?! Audio books give me a quick fix, without
having to carry around a heavy book when I’m on the go.
It took me a while to settle into the voices and the narration
style of this audio book. The story definitely didn’t hook me
to start with, but the intensity of the love between the main
characters and the underlying commentary of immigration and
cultural struggles, make this a beautiful and touching love story.
Suitable for adults and teens.
