Mode of Preparation : Leaf boiled for extract. Leaves crushed with water for extract. Dried bark ground
for powder.
Mode of use : Decoction & Fresh
Ingredients : The bark yields tanin. Seeds yield crude protein, calcium, phosphorous, iron, niacin
and assorbic acid. The flowers contains lupeol, α & β -amyrin.
Ailment Treated : Bark powder is anthelmintic, astringent, cooling, skin diseases, diabetes, burning
sensation, leprosy and inverterate ulcers. Leaves cooked in ghee and is used as a remedy
for cough. Leaf extract is applied in cutaneous infections.
Source : Generally grown wild in both hills and valley areas. Occasionally cultivated.
