WHAT WAS YOUR WELCOME
TO THE NFL MOMENT?
“Honestly, it’s been a rollercoaster couple of years. I’ve been so
numb to everything that I’ve just been going with the fl ow. It didn’t
hit me until after the season when I got to sit back and think I’m really
living my dream that I’ve always wanted to live. I look back at it and
just really appreciate the things that happened in my life to get me to
this point. When I got to sit down and talk to my father, he said, ‘Son,
do you really realize what you have done?’ I just kind of sat there and
looked at him.”
WHAT DID YOU LEARN ABOUT YOURSELF IN YOUR ROOKIE YEAR?
“Just the maturity of myself, when I fi rst came to college and where
I’m at now. I look back and see how much I’ve grown as a young man.
I’m proud of myself because I walk a straight line and do the right
things. I don’t have to worry about what’s going to happen because I’m
not doing the right things or looking behind my back. I’m excited to be
able to continue to mature.”
AFTER BEING UNDRAFTED, YOU FINALLY HAVE A LOT OF
LATE-SEASON ROOKIE CARDS. WHAT’S IT BEEN LIKE SEEING
ALL THESE NEW CARDS?
“I defi nitely see a lot more people with my cards now. It’s cool to

HAVE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS BEEN SCOOPING UP SOME
OF YOUR CARDS?
“They have. A buddy of mine collects cards, so couldn’t wait to get
my cards. You see a lot of people who want you to sign the cards. It’s
cool and interesting.”
IF YOU COULD BE PAIRED ON A FOOTBALL CARD WITH ANY
PLAYER IN HISTORY, WHO WOULD IT BE?
“Probably Barry Sanders. That would be really cool.”
WHAT NFL VETERANS DID YOU MEET THAT YOU WANTED TO
GET TO KNOW?
“A lot of players. Adrian Peterson—I got to see him in a preseason
game. He told me that he liked my story. Just watching someone like
that, and then being able to play with him is really cool.”
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO 2019 ROOKIES?
“You can’t let people dictate who you are. You are whoever you
want to be and how you want to be. You set that standard. If you
work your butt o every day and stay consistent, it’s going to be OK.
Continue to go with the fl ow and stay on track.”
WHAT KIND OF TEAM SHOULD BRONCOS FANS EXPECT NEXT
SEASON?
“We’re going to be explosive. You have a bunch of young guys
that are really hungry, that want to play with each other and that
are close to each other. We’re going to have another great draft
class this year that will build on to it. That’s scary when you have
a lot of young talent. It’s about the character of the players you
bring in to the organization, and we have great character. We love
each other. It’s like college. When people are close together, it’s
hard to break that bond. That’s how you win.”
