DIOR
From the woven rattan umbrella stand that recalled the Napoleon III-style chairs
used by Christian Dior at his fashion spectacles to the smoked grey Plexiglas vases
called Cubisme, referencing the Cubism artistic movement he adored, the slate of
home accessories presented by Dior Maison at the majestic Casa degli Atellani was
a celebration of its legacy through and through. Italian-American designers Emiliano
Salci and Britt Moran of Dimore Studio were enlisted to spearhead the project and
delivered 14 exclusive creations that included trays, place-settings, frames and more.
The duo remarkably melded different metals such as silver, bronze and gold with
precision and turned the alloy into modernised 18th-century fixtures. The candelabra
was especially noteworthy with its graphic lines and subtle play on transparency rising
from the petals of a bronze flower.
