L’Ofciel Living 160
After months and months of teasing and drumming up our
anticipation, renowned nightspot and entertainment hub
Marquee has finally opened its doors at Singapore’s Marina Bay
Sands. This marks the second partnership between TAO Group
and the upscale integrated resort after their gastronomical
venture that’s LAVO Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar. The
fourth destination under the brand and its first in Asia, Marquee
originated in New York City before putting down its roots in Las
Vegas and Sydney.
Occupying the space that was once a theatre hall, the Singapore
venue is endowed with a cavernous 2,300 sqm and three floors
with ceilings soaring at 30 metres in height. It is no surprise
that Marquee Singapore now holds the record for the largest
nightclub on the island. New York-based design house ICrave
was mandated to transfuse the authentic carnival-esque spirit
synonymous with the brand into the premises, and the result is
nothing short of spectacular.
There are the three-storey, LED-lit spiralling slides and the
eight-armed Ferris Wheel named The Big Q erected within the
compound to express a vision of the “nightclub playground”.
The Ferris Wheel, especially, is guaranteed to be the spot
where clubgoers flock to as it offers a sweeping view of the
establishment. What’s more, each gondola is furnished with
a touch-pad camera—transforming it into a fun, rotating
photobooth—which can be used to capture precious moments
with your partying friends.
And it wouldn’t be a Marquee nightclub without cutting-edge
technology and sound system. Striking visuals and animations
made with the latest Monstro 8k Camera technology by Visual
Artform can be seen all across the digital screens, as well as
the 20-metre-high custom LED native 8K resolution display
throughout the night. Partiers are also in for a treat when the
dimly lit space gets bathed in theatrical lighting by SJ Lighting
and enveloped in pristine audio provided by Sound Investment.
But for those who need a break from the jam-packed dance floor,
head over to any of the four bars scattered around the club for
some liquid energiser. For a quick refreshment, make a beeline
for the Las Vegas or the Sydney bar, where delectable bevvies
are served with stunning displays of peacocks in gilded cages.
The Singapore bar is positioned on the top floor just in case one
gets weary of waiting in line for The Big Q, while the New York
Wonderland Bar can be found at the bottom of the Sunny Slide
Up—the grand prize that awaits those daring to embark on the
slide of their lives.
