Lost In Tokyo

Following the opening of its new retail

locations in Berlin and Los Angeles

earlier this year, MCM celebrated

its Japanese expansion in style

with the debut of its largest flagship

store located in the heart of Tokyo’s

tourist district, Ginza Haus 1. The

new architectural landmark which

boasts a nine-storey space that fuses

art, fashion and culture was flocked

by a sea of local and international

celebrities including rising star Kōki,

figure skater Miki Ando, and American

producer and rapper Lil Jon, who

explored the collections on display

between canapés and cocktails.

The event introduced modern and

traditional performances that paid

tribute to the brand’s rich heritage in

music, kicking off with a B2B ’90’s retro

pop set by DJ Daruma and Jommy that

got the crowd partying on the second

floor. Meanwhile, DRUM TAO took over

the fifth floor to stage a spectacular

performance of drums, bamboo flutes,

koto and traditional rhythms.
