L’Ofciel Style 22
- Coach 1941: S t u a r t Ve v e r s
enlisted a number of Chinese artists to
reimagine Rexy the Coach Dinosaur for
his destination collection. Sui Jianguo,
for one, gave us a distorted photo print
of his Rexy sculpture as well as this
streamlined leather bag charm. - Versace: Donatella Versace
singlehandedly set the reissue trend in
motion a couple of years ago. She now
returns with another glorious throwback
collection, referencing brother Gianni’s
iconic works especially his famous
safety-pin dress. This zebra-print, one-
shoulder mini dress is both an ode to the
late designer and the ‘80s club scene. - Gucci: It’s that time of the year
again where we start scrolling our
Instagram feed for the best pair of
gloves for the months to come. Get a
jump on the season with these dual-
coloured gloves that impress with their
stitching details, soft leather material
as well as the gold-toned Double G logo.
4. Stella McCartney: Nostalgic
and unmistakably British, Stella
McCartney contributes to the rise
of the cape party this season with a
tailored number in Prince of Wales-
checked wool with side slits for the
arms—it’s bound to be a modern
classic.
5. Saint Laurent: T h e d e v i l
works hard but Anthony Vaccarello
works harder, and it shows in this
reinterpretation of the Devil Derbies.
Crafted from leather with leather soles
and grooved heels, these lace-up shoes
are certainly designed with working
girls in mind.
6. Proenza Schouler: Possibly
the culmination of a unisex-led style
movement in an era of feminism,
dresses are now meant to be worn with
pants. That being said, the feminine
element is not lost especially at Proenza
Schouler with its sensual slip dresses
and romantic lace detailing.
7. Pierre Hardy: N ot hin g s ays
versatile footwear like a pair of black
ankle boots. Embellished with leather
cuts that recall the shoemaker’s
Rainbow sandal, these expressive
stiletto-heeled booties are one of the
pre-season’s standouts that make a
worthy investment.
8. Jil Sander: T h i s P r e - F a l l
season’s fair share of outrageous
accessories in its arsenal has dispelled
the snoozefest notion often associated
with it. Luke and Lucie Meier deliver
a tote bag so big it could fit a small-
sized human, while retaining the
thoughtful and minimalist aesthetic of
the brand.
9. Bottega Veneta: When it
comes to heritage fashion houses
that seamlessly balance tradition and
contemporary appeal, no one does it
quite as well as Bottega Veneta. This
clutch with woven oversized glossy
leather strips is testament of that.
