Dog: Ox, German shorthaired pointer
Owner: Mike Reddy, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Puppy – 2017: Ox, 4 months old, shows interest towards
a pen-raised quail just out of frame. He was the last of
a litter, and Mike had little knowledge of his parents’
hunting capabilities.
Adult – 2018: At 17 months old, Ox still had so much
puppy in him. This is one of his first birds on his first
trip to Michigan. He helped bag multiple grouse and
woodcock on this trip. Mike thought he had missed the
woodcock until Ox appeared from the young timber cut,
bird in mouth, bringing it right to his hand. Proud papa!
