Supersonic hair dryer in 2016, Dyson has been on a mission to become the foremost expert in hair,
investing a cool $126 million into research and development for its styling tools. Now it has estab-
lished a health and beauty lab in South Korea, the first of several global facilities it plans to open to
better understand and develop products for all hair types in every market. Out of this initiative comes
a new attachment for the Supersonic to suit curly hair types. The wide-tooth comb ($50), which was in
development for three years, is made of a robust plastic that won’t warp when tension is applied, and
the teeth have rounded edges that keep it comfortable on the scalp. “For people who like to let their
curly hair air-dry, you can put the comb at the root and just lift the hair to give it more volume without
disturbing the curl,” says hairstylist Jawara Wauchope, who has worked with Solange and Cardi B.
“But if you want to blow the hair out and take the curl out, you can do that [too]. It’s versatile.”Now trending
