How to Simplify Your Life

It’s time to stop equating the success of your workout with how
long it lasts. Science has shown us time and again that shorter,
more intense sweat seshes, like high-intensity interval training (HIIT),
are as good for your health as a 45-minute jog—and you can do them
in your living room while half-watching reruns of Friends. Try Tabata,
which is 20 seconds of hard work followed by a short rest, and mix
it up, says Caleigh Rykiss, founder of Toronto-based Body Love Inc,
a combined boxing and HIIT workout. “Alternating between intense
strength moves [like weights, squats and lunges] and higher-impact
cardio is such an efficient way to work out,” she says. CARLI WHITWELL

HOW DO I
MAKE TIME
TO WORK OUT?
Have a desk job but dream
of fitness-influencer-level
sweat sessions? Stop
stressing. You can get
healthier in 10 minutes.

THE ONE The Stella
McCartney T-shirt
WHY? This relaxed tee not
only makes for a perfect French
tuck but is also crafted from
organic cotton—and if you’re
going to invest in a designer
shirt, you might as well support
someone who champions the
environment. (Bragging points
for a subtle logo that delivers
an understated high-fashion hit.)

These worth-the-investment
classic pieces will feel just

THE ONE
The Schott jacket
WHY? The leather jacket

goes out of style. The details on
this versatile version from the
original turn-of-the-century brand
instantly translate into a boho,
a rock-’n’-roll or an off-duty-model
look. Leather jacket, Schott

THE ONE Prada sunnies
WHY? Cat-eye sunglasses, whether subtle
or severe in shape, are the essential building
block of any budding eyewear wardrobe.
(The only proof you need: Audrey Hepburn
in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.) Bonus: The tortoise-
shell hue of these beauties is universally flat-
tering. Acetate sunglasses, Prada ($370,
at Sunglass Hut, sunglasshut.com)

THE ONE Triarchy denim
WHY? Invest in denim that feels as good as it looks.
Triarchy uses factories where 85 percent of the water
used is recycled. Plus, the stylish hardware is made of
nickel-free recycled sheet metal and labels are crafted
from recycled leather. Recycled-cotton, organic-cotton,
