CUT FABRICS
Cut pieces in the following order.
If you prefer to make triangle-squares
larger than necessary then trim them to
size, cut 4^7 ∕ 8 " and 4^1 ∕ 2 " squares, instead of
the 4^3 ∕ 4 " and 4^3 ∕ 8 " squares, respectively,
specified in the cutting instructions.

From solid blue, cut:
■ 2—4^3 ∕ 4 " squares
■ 4—4^3 ∕ 8 " squares
From each teal floral and white
floral, cut:
■ 1—4^3 ∕ 4 " square
■ 2—4^3 ∕ 8 " squares
From each white print and blue
floral, cut:
■ 4—4^3 ∕ 8 " squares
From pink print, cut:
■ 2—1×19" border strips
■ 2—1×18" border strips
■ 5—4" squares
From backing fabric, cut:
■ 2—12 ×19" rectangles

ASSEMBLE PILLOW TOP
Measurements include^1 ∕ 4 " seam
allowances. Sew with right sides
together unless otherwise stated.
Press seams in directions indicated
by arrows on diagrams. If no direction
is specified, press seam toward

1 ) Use a pencil to mark a diagonal line
on wrong side of each solid blue and
white print 4^3 ∕ 8 " square, and each
solid blue 4^3 ∕ 4 " square. (To prevent
fabric from stretching as you draw
lines, place 220-grit sandpaper under
each square.)

2 ) Layer a marked solid blue 4^3 ∕ 8 " square
atop a teal floral 4^3 ∕ 8 " square. Sew
together with two seams, stitching

(^1) ∕ 4 " on each side of drawn line
(Diagram 1). Cut pair apart on drawn
line. Press open to make two teal-
floral-and-blue triangle-squares. Each
triangle-square should be 4" square
including seam allowances. Repeat
to make four teal-floral-and-blue
triangle-squares total.
3 ) Repeat Step 2 using remaining
marked 4^3 ∕ 8 " squares and blue and
white floral 4^3 ∕ 8 " squares to make eight
blue-floral-and-white-print triangle-
squares and four white-floral-and-
blue triangle-squares.
4 ) Repeat Step 2 using marked solid
blue 4^3 ∕ 4 " squares and teal floral and
white floral 4^3 ∕ 4 " squares to make two
large teal-floral-and-blue triangle
squares and two large white-floral-
and-blue triangle-squares. The large
triangle-squares should be 4^3 ∕ 8 " square
including seam allowances.
5 ) Layer a large teal-floral-and-blue
triangle-square and a large white-
floral-and-blue triangle-square, right
sides together, with blue triangles atop
floral triangles. Use a pencil to mark a
diagonal line perpendicular to seam.
