For a sturdier bag, try using a foam
stabilizer, such as ByAnnie’s Soft
and Stable (byannie.com) instead of
batting. The resulting bag will have
more body and will hold its shape
better when it’s not full.

8 ) Quilt bag front and back as desired. Project
maker Joanna Burgarino machine-quilted
a square-in-a-square design in the brown
print squares. Trim batting and muslin
even with bag front and back.

9 ) Using fabric-marking pen, mark a 3" square
in each bottom corner of bag front.
Carefully cut out squares (Diagram 5).
Repeat with bag back.

10 ) Layer bag front and bag back with right
sides together; pin. Sew along left-hand,
bottom, and right-hand edges (Diagram 6).
Press seams open.
