11 ) Pull apart top and bottom layers of one
corner; pinch together so that side seam
lines up with bottom seam. Pin in place
and sew across with a^1 ∕ 4 " seam allowance
(Diagram 7). Repeat with second corner
to make bag body. Turn bag body right
side out.

ASSEMBLE BAG LINING
Using cream floral 20× 221 ∕ 2 " rectangles, repeat
Assemble Bag Body, steps 9–11 (beginning
on page 47) to make bag lining (Diagram 10).
Leave lining wrong side out.

FINISH BAG
1 ) Insert bag lining into bag body with
wrong sides together, matching side
seams (Diagram 11); pin.

2 ) Bind top edge using navy print binding
strips to complete bag. (For details, see
Binding, page 102.)

ATTACH HANDLES
1 ) Fold in short ends of a brown print 4× 41 ∕ 2 "
rectangle^1 ∕ 4 "; press (Diagram 8). Fold in
half widthwise with wrong side inside; press
and open. Fold each raw edge in toward
center crease; press and fold in half again.
Topstitch^1 ∕ 8 " from all edges to make a
1 ×4" handle connector. Repeat to make
four handle connectors total.

2 ) Fold a handle connector over a metal ring
of a leather handle (Diagram 8). Center
ends of handle connector on brown print
2 × 21 ∕ 2 " rectangle located under top navy
unit on bag front (Diagram 9). Sew a box
with an X through the center to secure it
in place. Repeat to attach a second handle
connector to brown rectangle under top
light blue unit, making sure to not twist
the handle.

3 ) Repeat Step 2 to attach second handle
under top navy and green units on
bag back.
