Try your hand at sewing triangles with a
smaller project. Quilt tester Martha Gamm
constructed a 16^3 ⁄ 4 × 601 ⁄ 2 " table runner in
a classic blue-and-yellow color palette by
isolating five vertical rows of Cascading
Diamonds and then trimming it. Fabrics

FINISH QUILT
1 ) Layer quilt top, batting, and backing; baste.

2 ) Quilt as desired. Minki machine-quilted
each row^1 ⁄ 4 " from the seam line and
stitched lines about^3 ⁄ 4 " apart in the zigzags
formed by the sashing pieces.
3 ) Sew together gray text print 2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips
along short ends to make one long strip.
Add tan print 2^1 ⁄ 2 ×42" strips to one end
to make pieced binding strip. Starting
with gray text print end about four rows
from the bottom on right-hand edge of
quilt, bind quilt using pieced binding strip.
