We look forward to seeing your work!

Perhaps one of the most romanticized insects
is the butterfl y. Luscious and colorful, they
transform from egg, to larvae, to chrysalis—to
beautiful winged creature. But all insects undergo
transformation from egg through various life cycles
to the crawling, fl ying, fl uttering animals we see
all the time. Though often overlooked, insects
not only play a vital role in our environment
(bees pollinate fl owers, ladybugs eat aphids,
etc.) but add beauty and interest all around
us—although some of the beauty is defi nitely in
the eye of the beholder! We invite you to create
a quilt that celebrates the metamorphosis that
insects experience in their short lives, or the
metamorphosis insects initiate in the wider world.
Join fellow QUILTING ARTS readers in making a
quilt based on the theme ‘Fluttering By’ and we’ll
publish a sampling of readers’ work in the
June/July 2020 issue!
