“I aff ectionally call my art ‘life pictures.’ Just like life when we are up close it is beautiful, colorful, and full of detail. Like in life we need
to step back—change the perspective—to see the real picture. Distance improves the clarity of my art pieces. Normally, I work in ¼ "
pieces of fabric, fused and heavily quilted with invisible thread. In true ‘challenge’ spirit, my husband and friends encouraged me to
attempt to have my work fi t in the 9" x 9" requirement. Challenge accepted! Th is piece was done in ⅛ " pieces. Tweezers, a wand iron,
and my beloved ‘Nina’ Bernina are my favorite tools.”
