- Arrange the house pieces on a
non-stick sheet or surface with
the bottom of all 4 pieces in
perfect alignment with a front
piece, a side piece, the back,
and the other side piece in a
row. The walls of the house
need a little room to fold when
the house is assembled, so it is
important to leave a tiny bit of
fabric between the pieces.
(fi gure 2) Even if you are
building an oddly shaped house,
the pieces should line up along
the bottom. (fi gure 3) - Place the house fabric with
the fusible side down over the
stabilizer pieces of the house. Be
careful not to disturb the lined-
up pieces. Press this assembly
with a hot, dry iron. - Once the fabric has cooled, peel
the fabric with the stabilizer off
of the non-stick sheet. (fi gure 4)
7. Trim the fabric to the edge of
the stabilizer. Leave a ¼ " tab
of fabric along the outside of
a peaked end of the house. In
a later step, this tab will be
pressed to the side to fasten the
corners together. (fi gure 5)
NOTE: It is very important not to
cut between the sides of the house.
- Add doors and windows to the
house while it is still fl at. Cut
tiny windows from pre-fused
fabric scraps. (I use a gray or
dark fabric for some windows
and yellow for others. After all,
the lights are on in some rooms.)
Fuse the doors and windows to
the house. (fi gure 6) - If you cut the pieces carefully,
the house folds together exactly.
The small tab of fabric laps over
the side; press this piece, fusing
it to the side panel of the house.
