‘METEO’ PARASOL
by Konstantin Grcic
This square sunshade marks the start of
an ongoing collaboration between designer
Konstantin Grcic and Spanish outdoor
specialist Kettal. Featuring Grcic’s signature
pared-down geometric lines, ‘Meteo’ is
currently available in a basic version, which
opens with a classic manual pulley system,
and, for those who prefer their garden
furniture to do the work for them, a version
with an integrated gas piston for opening
and closing. Further models, exploring other
mechanical systems, are in the works. The
parasol’s base plate is ofered in a choice of
cast iron or sheet metal, colour-coated to
match or contrast with the sunshade, which
comes in a selection of hues from Kettal’s
Terrain fabric collection, created for the
brand by London design studio Doshi Levien.

‘SOLANAS’ ARMCHAIR
by Daniel Germani
Now based in Phoenix, Arizona, the
Argentine architect and designer
Daniel Germani looked back at his childhood
holidays in the beach resort of Solanas,
Uruguay, to ind inspiration for this outdoor
armchair with soft round edges. Its
welcoming embrace is an homage to his
father, who liked to gather friends and
family for drinks and stories every evening
during the summer. The armchair is made
of powder-coated perforated aluminium,
available in a reined palette of earthy greens,
greys and ochres, while the cushions
come in super-resistant outdoor fabrics,
a Gandiablasco speciality (founded in
1941, the company was initially a textile
manufacturer). The collection also includes
a chaise longue, two- and three-seater
sofas, and a matching cofee table with
a super-strong Dekton top produced
by Spanish surface specialist Cosentino.
