‘PIVOT’ DESK
by Giacomo Moor
Designer and carpenter Giacomo Moor’s
elegant desk for new Milanese brand SEM
takes its name from the pivot mechanism
of its compartment doors. Mounted directly
onto the frame, the construction obviates
the need for hinges, reducing the structure
to its raw essentials. Crafted by Fonderia
Artistica Battaglia, the etched brass doors
are available in a choice of four patinas, and
they adorn a pair of lacquered containers,
supported by two stone elm shelves on
a frame made of acid-etched brass tubes.
Moor’s ‘Pivot’ collection also includes
a matching bookcase, two types of consoles,
a storage unit and a small table.

‘JACK’ BOOKCASE
by Michael Anastassiades
Michael Anastassiades’ debut design for
B&B Italia, this modular bookcase system
comes with just as much technological
inesse as the minimalist lighting ixtures
for which the Cyprus-born, London-
based designer is known. Ofering a new
take on the classic 1950s room-divider
bookcase, the ‘Jack’ system is available in
14 diferent heights and boasts a discreet
telescopic adjustment mechanism to make
sure it its perfectly wherever it is installed.
Anastassiades has subtly concealed the
engineered supports holding up the
laminated shelves within the system’s
vertical, extruded aluminium elements.
The shelves come in two lengths, and
the bookcase is available in chalk white
and black, both in a muted matt inish.
