Widbrook Grange

OODLES OF HISTORY

WIDBROOK Grange is an 18th
Century, 19 bedroom Georgian
country house hotel, based in
Bradford-on-Avon. The kitchen
restaurant serves up farmhouse
cuisine with a gastro twist and uses
only the freshest, finest, ingredients
from independent suppliers and
local sources, including a herb
garden located on the grounds.

EXPERTLY CRAFTED MENU
THE menu has been lovingly
crafted by World Champion Chef,
Sandor Szucs, who prepared all
of the dishes that we photographed
for this PhotoPlus Apprentice
photoshoot’s delicious spread of
photography. We can confirm
they taste as good as they look!

TAKE ME TO THE BAR
THE beautifully rustic copper-
topped gin bar is where we took
most of our photos for the shoot.
It also boasts over 165 craft and
award-winning gins –
complemented by a range of
garnishes and 14 different tonics.
Keep reading to see how we shot a
gin and tonic, as well as other
delectable cocktails and dishes.

A GLOWING RECOMMENDATION
IF you’re in the Wiltshire area check
out Widbrook Grange for its
top-quality food, alluring cocktails,

SUE is a TV producer from Ascot
with a passion for food and works
on cookery TV shows and events.
She recently did a Food Styling
course at Leiths School of Food
and Wine to learn how to make a
plate of food look photogenic, but
Sue feels her photo knowledge is
letting her down. We’ve teamed her
up with Canon food photographer,
JP Baudey, to learn his tricks of the
trade and see how he takes tasty
pro photos – fit for websites,
menus and beyond!

CANON PRO APPRENTICE

WITH more than three decades in
the food industry and 20 years as a
head chef at some of the UK’s top
restaurants, JP has a love for food
few can match. 10 years ago he
suffered from a heart attack, after
which he retired from cooking. He
jokingly says it’s the best thing that
could have happened, as it was
then he chose to turn his passion
for fine dining into a new vocation
as a food photographer.
