Booties collection


Reindeer booties (make 2)
Upper
Using 3. 7 5mm (UK 9, US 5) needles and
Bramble, cast on 7 sts.
Row 1 (and every alt row) Purl.
Next row Inc in every st. 14 sts
Next row (K1, inc in next st) to end. 21 sts
Next row (K2, inc in next st) to end.
28 sts
Next row Purl.
Change to Soft Brown and st-st 12 rows.
Next row K10, cast off 8 sts, k10.
Working on this set of 10 sts, turn.
Next row Purl to last 2 sts, p2tog. 9 sts
Next row K2tog, knit to end. 8 sts
Starting with a purl row, st-st 1 3 rows.
Cast off.
Rejoin yarn to rem sts.
Next row P2tog, purl to end. 9 sts
Next row Knit to last 2 sts, k2tog. 8 sts
Starting with a purl row, st-st 1 3 rows.
Cast off.


Cuff
With RS facing, using 3 .25mm (UK 10,
US 3 ) needles and Soft Brown, pick up
and knit 14 sts along left side, 8 sts
along centre and 14 sts along right side.
3 6 sts
Work 5 rows 1x1 rib.
Next row Dec 1st, rib to last 2 sts, dec.
3 4 sts
Next row Rib.
Next row Rib 10, (dec 1) twice, rib 6, dec
(dec 1) twice, rib to end. 3 0 sts
Work 3 rows 1x1 rib.
Cast off in rib.


Sole
Beg at heel, using 3 .25mm (UK 10, US 3 )
needles and Soft Brown, cast on 7 sts.
Row 1 Knit.
Next row-RGMRƤVWXWXORMXXSPEWXWX
inc. 9 sts
Rep last 2 rows again. 11 sts
G-st 26 rows.
Change to Bramble and g-st 4 rows.
Next row K2tog, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog.
9 sts
Next row Knit.
Rep last 2 rows again. 7 sts
Cast off.
Sew seam from top of rib to base of
upper. Sew back of sole to back of


bootie then sew front of sole to front
of bootie. Use pins to pin sides tog,
stretching sole slightly, then sew in
place securely. Weave in all loose ends
securely. Turn RS out.

Ears (make 2)
Using 3 .25mm (UK 10, US 3 ) needles
and Soft Brown, cast on 4 sts.
Row 1 Knit.
Next row Inc in every st knitwise. 8 sts
G-st 5 rows.
Next row K2tog, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog.
6 sts
Next row Knit.
Rep last 2 rows again twice. 2 sts
Cast off.
Fold base of ears at bottom and sew
tog. Sew ears either side of head, with
about 10 sts in between.

Antlers (make 2)
Using 3 .25mm (UK 10, US 3 ) needles
and Bramble, cast on 50 sts. Cast off.
Fold in half and sew ends tog. Sew
seam for 4.5cm (1¾in), then push
centre of chain inwards to create 2 side
pieces, one slightly larger than the other
(it should look similar to a Y shape).
Sew the seams tog. Now fold cast-on
and cast-off edges tog and sew to make
antlers cylindrical.
Place base of antlers directly behind
ears and sew to ribbed cuff for about
3 cm (1¼in).

Eyes (make 2)
Using 3 .25mm (UK 10, US 3 ) needles
and Black, cast on 3 sts, sl1, k2tog,
psso. Cut yarn and thread through.
Place eyes either side of 3 centre rib sts,
sewing top of eye through rib and base
of eye through st-st upper.
Secure to bootie then, using white
sewing thread, work a few tiny straight
sts at top-right of each eye.

Now work a small straight st eyebrow
slanting downwards in Black, starting
about 0.5cm (¼in) above eye. Finally,
use Black yarn to work a large curved
mouth on ‘nose’. At each end of mouth
work a tiny straight st facing outwards.
