Jenny Aitkenis a regular contributor to

The Artistwho works in acrylics and oils

and is inspired by movement, light and

atmosphere in her paintings. The workshop

will cover composition, colour, brushwork

and depth, with special emphasis on

layering light. After Jenny’s demonstration,

students will paint a small tonal study in

black and white, followed by a large colour painting. Throughout

the session, Jenny will provide individual teaching and advice.

YOUR MATERIALS

Daler-Rowneywill provide each student with a System3 Studio

Set containing 10x37ml tubes; an A3 System3 Artboard Pad and a

System3 Brush Wallet, worth over £59(rrp).

System3 acrylics are highly versatile water-based

acrylic colours with fast-drying properties. They offer

permanence, inter-mixability, durability, covering

power and excellent lightfastness (with the exception

of fluorescent colours which are by nature fugitive).

They are made from high-quality pigments, allowing

them to be thinned with water or used directly to create

an insoluble film. System3 brushes are resilient and

durable; perfect for painting with acrylics. The System3

Artboard Pad comprises 10 durable boards laminated

with an acrylic surface paper on top and as they are

1.4mm thick, the painting will be ready to frame.
