to receive most two-factor authentication codes. But a smarter route would be to use
an authentication program like Authy. You can get it for the Windows desktop or
HYHQDVDEURZVHUH[WHQVLRQVR\RXFDQDFFHVVLWIURPWKHWRROEDUZKHQ\RX¶UHWU\LQJ
to log into sites—no phone needed. Note that not all sites and services support using
an authentication program, though—in such cases, you’ll likely need to use the
phone option. Or you could sign up for a free VoIP phone account with a service such
as Google Voice, so you can receive SMS messages; they’ll come to your desktop.
