In last week’s article, we explained how Huawei’s
traditional reliance on U.S. technology –
specifically, that of Google’s Android – could
hamper the attraction of the brand’s phones
in the future. Chinese-based companies have
certainly taken note and reacted by “de-
Americanizing” their supply chains. Huawei
is already investigating how it could source
components from Asian and European
companies rather than American counterparts.
Ultimately, nobody can be certain how
the trade war, and its implications for the
worldwide smartphone market, will unfold.
However, Jim Cramer, of the CNBC-aired
finance show Mad Money, has warned that
China will take action against Apple due to
the trade war, while a video report by CNA
Insider has claimed that Americans are losing
out as a result of the conflict. Sadly, this could
trickle through to the choice of great-value
phones that Americans can buy.
