robotically manufactured bio-
composite skins made of the most
abundant biopolymers on our planet
(eg, shrimp shells, corn starch and
cellulose). Each ‘panel’ exhibits
variation in pattern geometry,
structural member thickness and
material properties, as informed
by structural and environmental
constraints. These bio-textures
change their properties over
t i m e i n r e s p o n s e t o l i g h t , h e a t
and humidity, demonstrating a first
o f i t s k i n d ‘s e a s o n a l’ s t r u c t u r e
