For his debut contract design for Fritz Hansen, Spanish

designer Jaime Hayon has created a dreamy, cocoon-

like collection. His enveloping, sound-dampening, high-

backed Plenum seating range, which comes complete

with power plugs, USB ports and integrated work

surfaces, is ideal for meetings, private conversations

and interviews, offering space for collaboration,

concentration or relaxation. Hayon’s brief was to

provide a functional, comfortable refuge within

today’s open-plan spaces, such as airport lounges and

hotel lobbies. ‘The overall objective was to challenge

the concept of traditional office furniture and create a

feeling of home,’ says Hayon. ‘What I like most about the

range is its ability to combine advanced techniques
