Big feet help
the jackrabbit
jump. Every few
jumps, it hops
higher to look
for danger.
Its nose
is always
sniffing for the
smell of other
animals.
The color
of its fur blends
in with rocks,
shadows, and plants.
That helps it hide
from hungry
animals.
Eagles, hawks,
foxes, bobcats,
and coyotes eat
jackrabbits.
The
jackrabbit’s
strong back legs
take long, fast
leaps. It can move
as fast as
a car.
