Apple sprung a big surprise by announcing the
winners of the inaugural Apple Music Awards
in December. The awards, which celebrated
the “best and boldest musicians of 2019”, were selected
by Apple Music’s global editorial team of experts. The
big winner was UK pop star Billie Eilish, who took
home Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. “The
Apple Music Awards are designed to recognise the
passion, energy and creativity of the world’s favourite
artists,” says Oliver Schusser, Apple’s vice president of
Apple Music and International Content. “The musically
diverse group of inaugural winners have sparked deep
social conversation, influenced culture and inspired
our customers around the world. We couldn’t be more
excited to celebrate them.”

enroll in three landmark

Women’s Health Study, the Apple
Heart and Movement Study, and the
Apple Hearing Study. In partnership
with leading academic and research
institutions, these multi-year studies are
available in the Research app. “Today

embark on research initiatives that may
offer incredible learnings in
areas long sought after by
the medical community,”
