Tap the level
While in the Measure app, tap on the
‘Level’ icon in the bottom-right corner to bring
up the spirit level tool. Now place your iPhone
flat on a surface to gauge how level it is.2
Green means go!
When the two circles are in alignment, the
screen will turn green, indicating that you have
achieved a perfect level. The level also works

Move your iPhone
When you first launch Measure and point
your iPhone camera at the object you want to
measure you will be asked to move your device
around so it can gauge the depth and scale.4
Drag to measure
Once you have established the start point,
tap ‘+’ (the dot will turn yellow) then move your
device across the object to start measuring.
Line up the white dot with the far edge.2
Add a rectangle
If the object is a particular shape, like a
square or rectangle, an option to add a shape
around the object will appear. Tap it to get
instant measurements for length and width.5
Tap to finish
The accuracy of the measurement is often
dictated by how steady your hand is. When the
white dot is at the far edge, tap ‘+’ again and
you will be given a measurement for the line.3
Clear measurements
You can also take measurements
manually. Tap the ‘Clear’ button to erase all
AR measurements from the screen and then
position the dot in the reticle at the start point.6
Get conversions
Once you have a measurement, tap
on the ‘>’ next to the figure and a panel will
appear displaying the measurement in an
alternate format to the default.
