A

pple provides a varied selection of ‘stock’
apps on your iOS devices. There are
the essentials, such as Mail, Notes and
Calendar, but plenty of others such as Home,
News and Stocks, that you may not use. In fact,
there are very few stock apps that Apple deems
absolutely essential, in that you can’t remove them
from your device (these include Camera, Photos
and Wallet), so if you have unwanted apps taking
up space, removing them is easy. By pressing on
most app icons, you’ll see the option to ‘Rearrange
Apps’ and tapping this triggers the familiar effect
from iterations of iOS gone by, when the icons
shake and small ‘X’ icons appear in the corner.
From here, you can drag icons onto others to
create folders – just move them into new positions
on the grid, or delete them altogether. Don’t worry,
in this tutorial we also show you how to restore any
apps you delete.
