Step-by-step Add regular Apple Watch chimes

1

Launch Settings app
Open the Settings app and ensure that
your Watch is updated to watchOS 6 (go to
General>Software Update). From the Settings
main screen, then select ‘Accessibility’.

2

Select Chimes
Scroll down the list of Accessibility
options and select ‘Chimes’. You’ll now be
presented with a toggle button at the top of
screen which you need to turn On.

3

Tap for scheduling
Once the button is on (which will show
as green), we will need to set a schedule. By
default, the chimes will play every hour but tap
‘Schedule’ if you wish to change this.

Turning on the Chimes means you’ll get audio
alerts over certain time frames...

Be alerted to the time

with regular chimes

T

o keep track of the time without constantly looking
at your Apple Watch face, you can now ask the
wearable to tap your wrist and play a chime at
regular intervals. In many ways, it’s a throwback to those
old digital watches which would beep on the hour but, in
this case, you can play a chime more frequently.
Maybe you’d like to know when each hour goes by
at work or school so that you know you’re a step closer
to going home or perhaps you need a more regular
prompting when multitasking. Whatever the case,
this feature – primarily designed for people with visual
impairments – will let you know.
Here we are going to show you how to activate the
feature and the options that are available to you. As it
stands, it’s all very simple but we’re hoping Apple will
expand upon the function over time so that it can offer
users the chance to customise the frequency and make
use of extra chimes.

Activate taptic chimes and you won’t need to keep staring at
your Apple Watch for the time
