GLYPHY

Those of you familiar with Microsoft’s Windows operating system will
hopefully remember fondly a utility called Character Map. It was
essentially a single dialog box for users to quickly view all the characters
within an installed font family. From here you could reference the keyboard
shortcut needed to type them or copy each, ready for pasting.
Glyphy is fundamentally an online equivalent, providing an oversized yellow
and black character map for copying glyphs. It’s a gridded collection of nested
<div> elements containing each ASCII character or symbol and inverting
to add dynamism on rollover. Click a desired glyph – any glyph – and it is
automatically copied to the clipboard for use in your projects. Very handy!
Built by Overlay, based out of Brisbane, Australia, Glyphy is a non-
commercial, in-house project doubling as a free resource. The footer text
merely invites Glyphy fans to perhaps donate some hosting costs via
buymeacoffee.com, while also asking for character requests to be added in due
course. Rather brilliantly too, the app works seamlessly across desktop and
mobile devices but obviously with one caveat. Some glyphs might paste and
appear differently depending on the selected system font.
