Salomon has released a
new line of kit designed
for women, designed in
the French Alps by a team
including 15 female experts.
The OUTline GTX shoe
(£140) is a lightweight
hiking shoe, weighing 330g
witha Gore-Tex membrane
and a protective toe cap.
The OUTline Jacket (pictured, £175) is constructed
from a breathable stretch waterproof material and has
minimalistic features, including elastic adjustments
on cuffs and hood. It uses a 2.5-layer construction,
with three-layer panels on exposed areas for added
protection. The OUTdoor range also includes two packs
and trousers.

width due to the brand’s Thermo
Stretch comfort construction
seams in the inner and outer

The Ferrata II GTX is based on one of Hanwag’s
bestselling mountaineering boots, the Ferrata
Combi GTX, but is up to 10% lighter than its
predecessor. Among its most innovative features
is Hanwag’s new TubeTec Rock sole technology,
which is designed to offer improved comfort
underfoot at a lower weight, via a cushioning
polyurethane (PU) midsole which is protected by
an outer “tube” made of TPU. The boot’s upper
is made from a combination of suede and
abrasion-resistant microibre with minimal
exterior stitching to improve
durability and minimise the
risk of abrasion. The
