THE EXPERIENCE
The tricky terrain around
the abandoned slate
quarry that’s near Llyn
Padarn (a glacially
formed lake) and the
village of Llanberis,
at the lake’s southern
bank, means you’ll need
to watch your step.
However, since you’re at
the northwestern edge
of Snowdonia National
Park, in north Wales,
you ought to pause
every now and then to
take in the scenery, at
once forbidding and
starkly beautiful.

AFTER THE RUN
Refuel with a golden
pint of Seithenyn beer
from Cwrw Llyn Brewery
and a much-deserved
lunch in The Heights,
in Llanberis.
